Ah yes, avoid 5% inflation with an asset that has no underlying value and can decrease in price by 20% overnight.

Real estate… biggest tax hack and leverage of mortgage debt that someone else pays off for you is still so high.

E.g, i bought 335k house with 40k down. After duration of my loan I will have gained approx 300k equity off a 40k investment

Treasury series I - you can buy an addition $5k in paper for each year by filling out IRS Form 8888 and submitting along with your taxes. Not much, but something in line with existing strategy.

I know marriage is supposed to be united financially, but since we are recently married it’s tough to give up my freedom financially. Advice?

If it matters, I never set foot in CA.

I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

What should I do? I have an offer with 185 base,8% 401k and 10k sign on. MS reached out for tech role but I need to have full scope. I have ci poly now and I get nervous when I go on it. MS rep did say if I fail they will try to place me elsewhere but that may just be hr talk.

Should I try to sign the 185 offer and try to see if I even get offer with MS and let the poly play out or should I just not worry about it and sign the current offer? I am pretty sure the compensation from MS is great.
