I would like to know what exactly you are so good at that makes $80k with 1.5 years of field engineer experience severely underpaid
What salary amount would not make you feel underpaid with all the 18 months of professional experience you bring to the table?
At 24 80k puts you in the top 5% of earners ;-)

OP came for advice, got a reality check instead 😂

Everyone hired more than 2 months ago feels the same way
What has changed in the recent 2 months?

Grow a spine and tell them you need more money.
Why did you accept the offer?
Poor decision on my part that I am trying to rectify.

Gonna be honest, I'm guessing the odds of successfully renegotiating an offer that was accepted so recently (in the form of requesting a raise) is slim and none. I'm guessing the company you're at either doesn't think you're worth what you think you are (are they underpaying everyone in that position?) or they have no intention and/or ability to pay fair market value for your position – neither bodes well for you. I would venture to say your best bet is to get a competing offer elsewhere and take it. Good luck, OP.
IBM 1 has the best approach, IMO. You could play it like my brother did—get an offer for more somewhere else and then discuss a raise with your manager. He got the raise he wanted, stayed 6 more months, and is now looking to bounce for about 25% more.

A field engineer with 1.5 YOE making 80k and calling it severely underpaid… I have 6 YOE and I didn’t break 80k until 3.5 years into my industry career in NYC… slow down, learn your industry well, and network. You are no where near “severely underpaid”

What’s your case for more money aside from your feelings?
You are not underpaid
Honestly think everyone in the comments needs to understand that $80k today is worth what about $55k was worth in 2005. Everyone is bagging on the young guy but in reality you’re all screwing yourselves for pushing the corporate lie that $80k isn’t low.

I'm comparing what ppl are getting now let alone what I was getting in 2014.
No one compared 2005 rates.
Y’all don’t understand what field engineer work is about and it shows. But I appreciate your responses still.

And don’t forget to disclose what you do so well that you are deserve 125k with 1.5 YOE
