So I'm a single dad, which I feel can be tough sometimes - doesn't fit with gender norms. It's the professional equivalent of not having baby changing stations in the mens room.

👋🏻 New mom here. I’m seeing a lot of comments about parents opting for “no sleepover” rules. Is this because of Covid, or is this a new thing? I went to sleepovers all the time as a kid and just wondering what reasons beyond a case-by-case basis would be to have this rule? Not judging, just genuinely curious.

How do you handle it when your kid can’t go to school/daycare? Daycare options in my area are extremely limited, and the one are in is pretty good. They are very strict about kids not being there when they are sick, which I appreciate and mostly agree with. Except that the rules are along the lines of if your kid has a temperature over 100, they cannot come in until they’ve been under 100 for 72 hours. According to every doctor I’ve spoke to, 100 isn’t even considered a fever. (See rest below)

He tries and ends up getting into shortcuts to get rich like gambling and trading and end up losing money that my mom and me end up paying. Just saw a friend who didn’t know anything about programming got a new job offer at 160k, doubling his previous salary in other fields, after going through a short 3-month boot camp (Code Smith). If the bar is so low (relative to going to do an MD/DDS/JD/MBA) for entry, why do you think not more people have joined the field to balance the pay of SDE when compared to other fields/industries?
