So I'm about to start my first year as a SpED/CRI teacher after having worked for 4 years as a SpEd Paraprofessional (1 in ESOL). Possibly taking over my former teacher's 4th-6th grade CRI class. Any advice for the rookie?

Congratulations! Lots of patience, and regarding behavior issues , never take it personally!

Please excuse my ignorance, but what does CRI stand for?

Remember you can’t do it all. If it’s crunch time with IEPs and progress reports, let aides help run groups, prepare materials and other things that give you time to complete those tasks. Also, never forget your 4 years as an aide. They work hard & deserve respect; same as everybody. Good luck!
