So I’m feeling kinda stuck at the moment.
For reasons out of my control I couldn’t work for a year. So I took a job as a laboratory assistant in a pathology lab. I had about two years of experience working in Quality Control labs for pharmaceutical. I was so happy to get this job because I thought it was a great opportunity and I got the hourly I wanted $22. After being there for over 60 days, I’m starting to dread going to work. I want to make a switch to a tech job that’s remote.

What is it about the job that makes you dread going to work? Is there something you can do to address that and make your current situation better, or at least tolerable enough that you can stick it out for a year before you jump ship?

Honestly it’s a combination of the work and really bad coworkers. I feel like my coworkers gang up on me and make me feel like I’m doing a bad job. Especially because I’ve been in the position of catching their mistakes and every time they give me an attitude about it. It makes me feel like they put their pride over patient care and that bothers me. Plus I feel like the job description and the work that I’ve been doing don’t match up. My supervisor doesn’t do the things she’s supposed to and she likes to say she’s the most important person there.

I am currently going through, what sounds like, the exact same thing. I’m an associate analytical chemist working in quality control and my job is literally peer review, catching mistakes, and following guidelines. It seems as though, the better I get at my job, the more negative feedback I receive. Feeling undervalued and alone to say the least. For the last two weeks I’ve been looking into tech, and enrolled in the google data analytics course. Where are you thinking of branching into?

I work in a manufacturing plant testing different label claims of vitamins/supplements

I have been at the same company for 8.5 years and I am feeling like it is time to make some moves to put my family in a better financial position.

I have worked up to general manager of a small business. Paid 45,000/year and am working easily 50-55 hours per week. No benefits.

I do not have corporate experience and only have an associate’s degree, so I am a bit lost on where to go next. I know I need to be looking at making a major move, but need some advice on where to go from here.

My remit quadrupled+ in a recent re-org with no increase in pay/promotion, my new director is new to the company and was zero help, and I was passed over for recent promotion during the comp cycle. The new director essentially began shutting me down any time I ask for clarity in my career progression. Now they have taken credit for the project I’ve been building over the past year+ without giving me props whatsoever to higher ups. What is the best plan of action here?

Strategies for transitioning from public sector to commercial consulting given current role?

I've been working in a public sector consulting role that seems more ops focuses and have excelled to this point. However, public sector has no urgency, I get 0 travel, we're disorganized, and I see no progression.

Beginning to plan my hopes for a lateral move to commercial consulting after I hit the 1-year mark and hoping to hear about similar moves or recommendations.

Thanks in advance
