"All too often, patients and clinicians mistakenly view FDA approval as [an] indication that a product is fully safe and effective," he says. "Nothing could be further from the truth. We learn tremendous amounts about a product only once it's on the market and only after use among a broad population.”
People are acting like the vaccines aren’t safe so getting COVID is much safer. It’s just excuse after excuse and conspiracy after conspiracy. It’s like recess where most of the class gets penalized because of a few morons.
For a lot of people it’s not even the science. Some people equate getting the vaccine as a “loss” of freedom. They would rather die than to “conform” to what the government tells us what to do.
But the death rate for the vast majority of healthy, non-obese people is almost nothing. The people who aren’t getting the vaccines are not afraid of the virus. Many have also already had the virus and now hold some immunity that maybe the vaccine would give them. It’s a risk versus benefit thing, some see no benefit in it when they are pretty health conscious about their immune systems and not overweight or obese. 40% of people don’t even know they have Covid as a symptomatic people.

I guess PWC1, you Sort of our addressing my point. For a long time what I have heard is that people don’t trust it because it’s not approved then when it gets approved it’s going to be we don’t trust the FDA then when it’s out for 10 years it’s going to be I want to know what happens at 20 years then we get to 20 years who knows.
I think my point is most people are full of it when they talk about their reasons for not getting a vaccine. And in many cases I think a lot of that boils down to people listen to really ill-informed politicians, celebrities or random people on the Internet who don’t know a damn thing.

I think you should waste less of your energy caring about other people's personal health decisions 🤷🏻♀️.
FDA doesn’t have a great track record tbh
Seems like they would wait it out… or only when it’s convenient
I don’t disagree with your point. The reason I posted it was to further your point. Anyone who is unvaccinated at this point has plenty of additional crap to pull out about approved drugs gone wrong. Their FDA argument is just kicking the can down the road.
Signed,
A fully vaccinated person
Unfortunately people aren't self aware enough to recognize that's the case, and will die with their heads in holes.
I would have trusted it until I got staffed on pharma projects. Once you see how the sausage is made you can't really go back
Lol, I love it when healthy young people who have never been truly ill in their lives say “I don’t take meds, I don’t trust big pharma.” No one really does until they don’t have a choice.

I very much doubt there are that many people who truly don’t want the vaccine. What’s your source?
Okay.
It’s not such a cut and dry decision for everyone. I’m very 50/50, equally concerned about the vaccine and catching COVID. I’m young and healthy and based off the data for my age group I’m really unlikely to get seriously ill. I also don’t interact with and children or adults that are high risk. Similarly for the vaccines there is low risk of the side effects that we know of at this time. Unfortunately I know way more people who have had bad side effects (temporary paralysis, messed up periods and blood clots) from the vaccine than from COVID itself. I don’t think everyone who isn’t vaccinated is stupid or crazy or spewing conspiracy theories. There are a lot of people out there who aren’t opposed to the vaccine but simply hesitant and feel stuck in making a decision because it feels like no one is telling the truth about the possible side effects and their magnitude and is instead dismissing legitimate concern and desire to be informed for wacko conservative conspiracy. Add in a healthy dose of health related anxiety and the decision becomes even more difficult.

Enough said. No more explanation needed.

I am not taking due to a severe reaction to a vaccine last year and my doctors recommendation that I do not take it. I just spoke to a colleague that had nuerothopy from the first dose and was told by the neurologist and immunologist to absolutely not take the 2nd dose. After 9 weeks they are about 90% recovered.
I’m sure they’ll figure out a way to move the goalposts
