How much equity would you expect when joining a series A startup with ~50 FTES? A few pieces of info: role is D of strategy. Company is in healthcare (non-biotech). Highish COL city (if that matters). They’re offering what feels like decent cash comp (~200k).
The President of the United States is claiming that the opposition party made up a hurricane death toll in order to make him look bad. And there are people who will believe him.
My mother-in-law passed away 2 weeks ago (not Covid and somewhat unexpected). I work in a small, tight knit group or so I thought. I let them all know through email and got the obligatory "sorry for your loss", but since then we received no other acknowledgement. When other team members had parents pass I've always sent flowers or donated to the cause they requested. This is bothering me more than it probably should. Should I say anything or just let it go?
I am doing an in person depo tomorrow and I am totally rusty. Is it customary to bring two or three copies of exhibits?
I grew up with strict father who doesn’t like getting happy and showing emotions , there are instances I felt this was specifically for women. When I got out of my home around 17 for college I became a very cheerful and excited person for every single thing. I loved myself , enjoy every sunset etc. met my boyfriend who was an introvert but he used to feel so happy seeing me happy for tiny things in life. FF 7 years - married and all I hear is sarcastic comments for my emotions. Contd..
Anybody have any insight (good bad or indifferent) about Davis Wright Tremaine in NYC? Any word on their remote policies, comp, hours, etc?
Anyone here been to Park City, Utah? Looking for recommendations / getting started with skiing. Would like to take a lesson, and also not sure how ski equipment rental works. What do I bring with?
I recently left a pretty good summer internship to take a full time job and I regret it. I have been losing sleep over it all summer. And after remote work ends, the job would be in a high cost of living city as well. Due to this, I am looking at switching jobs again. I feel terrible about starting my career as a job hopper. Despite getting interviews at good companies, nothing is making me feel better about this situation. I don’t know how to handle the thoughts racing in my mind.
My girlfriend and I really want to take vacation in early May but since I'm writing the CFE this year, would it be advisable to bank those days for studying? How much time do we get off to study?
Would you move from D to other Big 4 with only 20k raise (115 -> 135k)? Assuming you need to restart GC process from scratch a year after joining
Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!
How much of a crapshoot is the LA market rn for creatives? Trying to find something after this internship and all my networking and googling has been...disappointing.
WFH today and the house is too quiet, could use some new suggestions. What songs have you been cranking lately? CHINAH - Strange is Better
So I was hired exactly 2 months prior to this covid epidemic and as a result it has made learning how to be a lawyer quite a rollercoaster. I’m trying to learn how things are supposed to be but in all actuality, I’m having to be flexible and figure out how things are working at the moment...which is fine, but it’s hard to predict much of anything when you have nothing to compare it to. Being a law student and interning is nothing compared to practicing. Any advice!?
