If going chin strap, why not go for the full Ambrose Burnside?

Neckbeards aren’t cool unless you’re Amish

I have a close friend who experienced some serious mental health issues in the past. She’s been in extensive therapy and seemed to have gotten a handle on things, but when I was speaking to her the other day, she was talking in such an urgent and non-stop way for 15+ minutes that it got me really worried. She also kept backtracking while talking to me, recounting conversations from 10 years ago in extensive detail. Advice on how to bring this up without causing her anguish or embarrassment?

Office culture is dying because of COL. As a Gen Z person, I am extremely happy I left my job last spring once the in office requirement took effect. I’d be miserable on an analyst salary in NY. I think many Gen Z resonate with this. Most of us going into cons./banking come from upper middle class backgrounds and have had rather cushy lives. It would be a significant downgrade to move to NY on such a low salary. The only friends I have seen do it, are those with their parents paying their rent.

Are you (or someone you know) a lawyer or law school graduate looking for a completely remote job with lots of flexibility, great health insurance, and a low key working environment?   If so Thomson Reuters is offering a fantastic opportunity to work in legal publishing as an Attorney Editor.   This would be a great job for a recent graduate waiting on bar results who wants income and fantastic health insurance.

PM me for more info, I posted this before but they extended referral bonuses.

I’m looking for the next step in my career but opportunities at Apple seem very limited for senior roles so for the first time I’m looking outside the company. I’m interested in a Director role given my current position. Any advice would be welcome but also referrals. I’m looking to network, network, network until I make it happen. My field is in business development and strategy.

You see your boss/ boss’ boss / PPMD that you know or have interacted with, in an outside of work setting (walking the dog, in a restaurant, in a pub, etc). What do you do? Say hi / avoid any contact and pretend to not recognize? What if they’ve been drinking or are with others who may have? Just curious - especially in city downtown cores it has to happen fairly frequently that analysts through to PPMD might cross paths.
