You don’t “take credit for the work”. You take credit for leading and delivering while providing a learning experience for junior resources, even though you could do it yourself in 1/10th the time with fewer mistakes.
They don't want you to do it in 1/10 the time if it's a T&E project. That's literally how they make money.
I scripted work that was manually performed by my team of eight, and had to turn it into a "second level QA application" so we could still bill that team's work.
Yes. That's what efficiency is about.

This is the way.
Mandalorian reference?
Clearly the Deloitte way if you add in "I did all I could for you at year-end consensus meetings" while lying through your teeth and doing nothing to help your junior resources. Can't tell you how many times I saw that play out while there.

Exactly that- saw a real dbag at my former firm do this. PPDs loved him, no one else wanted to work with him.

You better find STRONG juniors who like you and have bandwidth - otherwise... good luck with that strategy champ
No. I have a good bs meter and can spot you from a mile away. I’m not going to do your lame tasks with zero visibility. Thx
I mean to an extent isn't this every business at scale? There's a reason there are less partners than analysts.
The rub is "taking credit" - a good leader will always praise their team. I'd imagine leadership can also see through this. Clearly an initiative that took months to deliver wasn't attributable to one person leading the team.

I do that except I tell everyone who will listen that my excellent team did the work. And I don't overload them
Truth is mgt doesn't care how I got it done. They just care that it's done.
And my team appreciates the recognition w management.
