So, it seems like everything is an “analytics lead” or a “lead” of some sort. It can be 2 years or 10 years of experience, sometimes both at the same company. What are your thoughts?

The best is when the job description requires using data to inform strategy, high level SQL skills, and presentation skills and offers $90k

If the post is from an agency, it probably means ‘we don’t know exactly what you would do but new business RFPs say we need analytics’

like

Probably because they can put it and it sounds better than “analytics subordinate”. I equate this to clients where everyone in the org is a CVP.

Yes. Also everyone is a leader in something like 4 years of school. Ugh.

It’s just a clever way not to pay people more. In any of the weird title situations that’s generally the cause

It sounds like they want someone to do a management job but not pay a management salary.

excel and powerpoint lead no one no where... so analytics lead sounds better than analytics follower

Google is the biggest abuser of this...

I was literally told this year that I didn’t get a promotion because I wasn’t in charge of the department so there wasn’t enough risk if I quit...even though I was “the smartest one” so leave agency world before you get in too deep

Did you quit?

Meanwhile my counterpart who actively sabotaged my career and admitted as much to my teammates can’t understand any statistical concepts to save her life.

Prepping for a CRO interview with the CEO of a smaller tech company (approx 70 employees) experiencing explosive growth. They want someone to run sales, alliances, & marketing, with heavy influence around product development so not really a traditional CRO role. Working on prep and curious if anyone has any ideas around questions I should be prepared to answer? Questions I should ask? Seems like an interesting role that should be a good fit with my background. Other thoughts?

Boss: the client said they liked your voice so much during your interviews that they want you to do the voice over for the commercial.

Me: ...oh?

Me: well, let's not be too hasty. I should probably stay on a little longer then, wouldn't want to jeopardize the commercial or anything...

So I have a tricky situation and need some advice. Long story short, one of my best friends was offered a role that I personally really like. She was promised Director level and when offer came through it was manager, so she declined and was pretty salty about it. Is it awkward if I apply for the role? How should I approach it with my friend?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

What is your legal department’s structure? It’s time that I restructure my department of 4, about to take on two new hires and I need inspiration. Does the commercial vs corporate structure work? Do you have dedicated legal ops and what do they focus on? What are your tiers and qualifications for each? Does everyone work on the sell side? I am curious to know what works for everyone’s department.
