Not great. First, they should be responding and communicating regardless, so that should be addressed and improved.
Are the campaigns continuing to improve?maybe they feel like they don’t need to make optimizations? Maybe ask, “do you know why the DSP isn’t showing the optimizations you made? I’m wondering if I should set up time with the vendor and ask.”
Yeah one of the people I manage whom got promoted after 10 months say this is the reason why she doesn’t respond all day. Now that the dsp is showing otherwise and she’s been relying on Koa to do the optimizations. Totally get it but then when you say you’re busy all day in platform then it shows a lot about her character.
Not responding isn’t an option. Period. Hard stop.
I would- 1) Reach out to the vendor and ask for a login report. Most big platforms have them. 2) ask your peers if they are seeing their team’s optimizations. Do your due diligence first and foremost.
If you need to address: then tell them it’s not an acceptable excuse to go all day without responding, and if they can’t find a couple of breaks in the day to respond you’ll find some time for them. Aka: put some some midday daily stand ups on the calendar and go through it together. It’ll be annoying for everyone, but some information will probably shake out.
For the record… I’m NOT a micromanager. I want to stay out of your biz! But not to our (the team’s) detriment. What if….something happens and the client believes things aren’t getting done and asks for proof…
What if…they are reviewing the biz and want specifics on what the team brings to the table from them.
Both could result in lost business and lost jobs.
Yeah I already have a login to dsp and see that other teams has been other been optimizations so I have a log and report for everything. It looks bad because it shows her character. This is just one of the instances that I’ve caught her and she’s been bragging how she got promoted within 10 months.
You're getting walked on like a hotel lobby carpet. I'd start recruiting for some replacement team members.
1. Set some expectations for response times
2. Give them the benefit of the doubt and ask why you’re not seeing their optimizations
