Hello, I have received an offer from Southwest Airlines as a Associate Technology Analyst with their direct college hire program. Will be graduating in May with a degree in MIS and also have internships experience as a Business Systems analyst intern. The salary compensation started off at 66,500 but was looking for the 75k range and they got back to me saying the best they can do is 68,500. They also have a 401k company match up to 9.3%. Do you think this is a solid offer for this job market?
How do you ask for points?

You can complain about the last minute plane change. Saying you booked a specific flight with a specific configuration, etc etc. My expectations were not met and I would like x points. I usually ask for $200 in points.
-international flight MAD-JFK, “big” plane switched out to a 757 3-3 configuration, I lost my selected priority seat and was given an exit row I didn’t want
-due to this, no real entertainment except the couple of TVs on the ceiling (also asked for a headset just to see if they had them, and was never given one)
-bathroom in the back was broken leaving just 1 for all of economy
-delayed 2.5 hours (unfortunately 30 min short of being entitled to EU passenger rights compensation)
-at the gate, they announced that the delay was due to “having to fill out necessary paperwork” and “they were waiting for 2 passengers from another flight”. Why the hell would they wait for other passengers, the flight was already delayed anyway!
-I paid a stupid amount for this flight to begin with solely so I could fly an AA operated flight (never again.....)
I’m exec plat if it matters. Thanks!
Probably not much
Worth writing that to aa via customer service. The status will probably get you something, not a full fight but probably 5,000 points. Think your best case is about the seat and lack of entertainment, not delays.
I got 5k miles for complaining about trying to be charged $200 for a checked bag that I shouldn’t have to pay (as exec plat).
I think you could (and should) get more.
I sent an email to AA about a similar situation a few weeks ago. I didn’t ask for anything specific but more wrote to them to let them know the bad experience I had. They eventually called me to apologize and gave me 20k miles
That’s why I don’t fly AA. Come to Delta. We don’t have any crappy planes!
