Hey Fishbowl community! I currently work as a Sales Support Specialist with 3 YOE working at a SaaS company. My dream career is to work at Microsoft or Google. I am open to different opportunities that exceed 80k+ per year. I also have a BA in Business Admin. If anyone can refer me to a great remote position I would greatly appreciate it! 😀

I’m a single mom of an elementary-aged child. I block my calendar before 9 for breakfast (or sleeping in, frankly), at lunch, another hour in the afternoon for homeschooling then again at 5 for the night. If I have to get back online to finish my day, I will, but I don’t negotiate my schedule. I refuse to allow my household to fall into disarray on account of circumstances beyond my control and/or to keep a job that’s supposed to give employees the flexibility they need to adjust to this new normal. I have a lot to lose if I were to ever get laid off, but my sanity and child are always going to be my priority.
I bought an Ipad mini for my 5 year old for when am in meetings... It’s been very difficult for me. I am single mom 🤯. I swore before I would never give him screen time during the week and just 2 hours on weekends just watching a movie with me. I was so desperate.
Since he got the Ipad it’s been so much less stressful, he can even be in the room with me and not even bother me.
I updated the settings of what he can have on it. I downloaded things like ABC mouse. Com and educational videos.
🙆🏾♀️😢😅
I’m a single mom too. I get it. We have to pick our battles. Although it’s screen time, ABC Mouse is so good for learning. This is only temporary...we’ll get the kiddos back on the swing of reality once we see it again.
One kid is pretty independent and gets her work done. My other one needs a little more help . It’s just hard to balance that with working from home and my other new jobs such as lunch lady, maid, etc. KPMG 1 said it right - it’s tough!!
