Whole30 lasagna. I used [this recipe ](https://thefoodieeats.com/whole30-lasagna/) as the base but made some modifications to make it healthier and due to what I had in the kitchen.
Instead of 2 lbs of ground beef I used a lb of ground turkey and added in a container of confetti ‘rice’ from Whole Foods which is carrots, broccoli and cauliflower.)
I used JOI cashew base instead of making cashew cream and used heart of palm lasagna ‘noodles’.

If the tables were turned, would you want to establish a situation by which your BF had no stake in the situation financially? If not, then you should probably have a discussion with your BF about values.
That said, I'm a dude and would likely pay, but you should either get your own room or only pay 1/2 of market rate for a similar size apartment
If you do get married one day, though, that money will belong to both of you if he doesn't squander it!
You're being immature, OP. I'm a girl and would NOT get butthurt over this if it had happened to me. It's extremely common for one partner to pay "rent" to the partner that owns the property. Adding another person to the household increases cost of living, frequency of maintenance, and provides a boundary that you are equal contributors to your lifestyle. My brother owns a condo and when his BF moved in with him, he started paying rent from day 1.
I STAND WITH OP.
Ok lets stop shitting on OP. If roles were reversed, I'd think my gf was crazy. And unless this guy lives trump tower, his HOA probably isn't more than a couple hundred if there is one at all.
OP is probably never going to post on FB again after tonight
You are selfish. You'd be paying rent anyways
I have no rights there is nothing to my name
Op - you need to work through this with him rationally to understand where he's coming from. I'm sure it's less about there money and more about some principal. And don't ever use the phrase "buying the cow." You're treating yourself like an object he can buy. If you have family goals, I understand that you want to know if he's serious but trading on your sex being more valuable to him than it is to you is self degrading.
For those here who think home ownership is free once it's paid off, my property taxes and HOA on a 2B2BR condo that would rent for $2500 add up to ~$1350/month not including maintenance (+$300/month est. based on the 1% rule) so mortgage is really just one small piece of the picture. Additionally, @A5 has some rock solid points on tenant rights
Oh stop with love garbage, EY1. This situation was one cause of me breaking up with my ex. I asked him to pay one half of all operating expenses of my apartment including utilities, cable, HOA fee which gave doorman and use of gym and pool, and my car insurance and gas as he didn't own a car but would use mine. I asked $500 per month for all of those things, and he told me that he mentioned that to his friends and they said I'm selfish. Fuck that. Pay for the use of my building. Those expenses don't go away from me even if I own the condo outright. And for the record I did NOT ask him to contribute towards mortgage principle/interest/escrow because he wasn't getting any equity.
Also the question about the mortgage was never answered. Clearly not aware of what it means to own a home.
If he doesn't own the cow why should he give the barn for free?
Drop him like a hot potato
Yeah, instead of saying "hell to the no.com" you could've said "the apartment is paid for" and this conversation would have been easier for all of us
So if I wanted to make extra money on my condo that I own, I shouldn't do AirBnB just get a girl to move in and if I dump her she won't have any recourse because there is no lease AND she paid for half my mortgage?! SCORE!
OP come back we want to roast you some more
Property tax?
It's kinda like inviting someone to your place to dinner and then asking them to cook. Lol.
@D4 - Op has no lease or any protection against eviction or property rights. He could literally change the locks tomorrow and she'd be out a months rent and SOL. He collects rental income without paying income tax. She's paying towards his equity with no equal return on investment. If they were married it'd be a different story. OP, you could move in with him but work out a reasonable payment and protect yourself.
If he truly doesn't have a mortgage then I find this pretty strange... unless he had a roommate previously who paid rent and who he's kicking out to make room for you. I would offer to pay half (of more) of prop tax, insurance and utilities.
Free rent for a weekly blumpkin?
I don't understand people who don't get why trying to make $$ off an SO of a year plus is so gross. Feels like he is taking advantage of her feelings to fatten his wallet. Ick!
