So my husband and I decided to name our son after my husbands grandfather who passed away when my husband was a kid. We just found out that his grandfather spelled his name differently than we thought and were planning on spelling our son’s name. I like the way we were planning on spelling it better. Would you use the actual spelling of the name or go with the one you like more? Context: it’s a slightly unique although not entirely out there name.

I think it’s enough that it’s the same name to the sound. The spelling should be up to parents.

Thoughts on Mother?

Hey guys… I’m a case worker in child safety and I’m someone who loves being outdoors/dies at a desk all day. I’m hoping to organise that at least once a week I can go to a cafe and catch up on all my case notes that need to go into the system.
So far the only reason I’ve been told no is that “if you do then everyone will want to and then no one will be in the office” … how can I convince them that I work better out of the office and get this freedom & mental break for myself?

Hey everyone. I found out we are expecting our first child and I’m really nervous. I got into consulting one year ago and I’m up for promotion this year. With timing of our performance conversations I would have to inform I’m pregnant before outcomes - then shortly after the promotion effective date I would go on a leave for due date. I’ve worked really hard and I’m worried our wonderful news will throw chances with this :(- also if I don’t get promoted pretty sure it’s up or out. Any advice?

My firm is evaluating CM programs/models to adopt as standard, getting some folks trained and certified and creating an ongoing internal training model. I feel like this industry is so hard to get out of because any job change comes with a huge pay cut. Has anyone else made the move out of the sales industry and what are your thoughts? Where did you go?

Started wearing a support belt per my doctors recommendation because I’ve been having pelvic pain. Wore it for the first time today and this baby will not stop moving. Now wondering if I’m choking my baby and maybe she doesn’t like this belt? I haven’t felt the pain I normally feel and no back pain this morning but now I’m feeling bad. I don’t want to have comfort if it’s causing discomfort on my baby. Anyone experienced this?

Hey guys, thought it may be beneficial for some people on here so wanted to share: if you are taking care of your parent or they live with you and they are 65+, there is a program that will pay you $400 per week as long as they are living with you. DM if this could benefit you and I can connect you with the Director of the program. Not trying to advertise but if this can benefit you, I would love to see it

Any suggestions for wireless / cordless baby monitor? Thanks!

Hi all, i am currently expecting, told in the office about the same. Initially i felt support from my team but lately i have been facing some issues with senior managers. Mandatory wfo when there is no such corporate policy (if you are on leave you are required to cover it later), work pressure, unnecessary feedback, irritable tone, "personal suggestion" to take early maternity.
This has started to build up mental and physical stress now.

I just started my third trimester and recently fractured one of my molars while eating soft fries (not sure how), but I had a root canal done on that tooth years ago so the tooth is actually a crown. I went to a dentist for consult and the dentist informed me that I will need a new crown since I lost a big chunk of the old one. The dentist wouldn’t even consider any other options because he doesn’t believe there is a good temporary fix… (More in comments)

Feeling really nervous, help! I’ve been using topical hydroquinone 4% since before I found out I was pregnant. Now reading the label I realise that it’s not advised and a category C by the FDA - I’m 6 weeks pregnant and have obviously stopped now but really scared I might have caused serious harm to my baby.

Have any of you used this while pregnant and it turned out fine? Any other insights that can give me some peace of mind? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

To those of you resistant to family cars - I’m a sports car driving, fast car loving, low to the ground kind of mom-to-be. (e.g. no back seat, no back doors). Obvi I need to get a new car but what isn’t too large, makes sense for a 3 person family (no more kids coming), while not sacrificing my need for speed and desire for a smaller/low to the ground/well handling ride? So far considering an S4 /S5, 3 or 4 series. Back doors seems to be a requirement for getting in and out of a car seat huh!🙄
