What keeps you from prospecting in both areas?
I live 40 minutes from my office. Has not hurt my business one bit. No one considers it a slam to the community where you work. After all, you chose to work there
There are plenty people to help. We are only limited to the U.S.
I had a FA move to my town and i was driving 40 mins; oftentimes I wondered why I wasn’t the logical choice for the ofc but thats neither here nor there. There are no territories and all I can say is go work hard and gather what you can. As I always remind myself, life isn’t fair but then again, I don’t want it to be. I ended up moving 6 minutes from my ofc and it’s made a huge difference in my mind and my business.
People in my community notice things like this. It may not seem like much but when you’re physically located away from the branch...some (not all) clients see that as a slam on the community like they are not good enough for you to both live and work in the same area/city. I moved closer about 10 years ago and actually had customers tell me this.
Regarding business that’s out there for all of us to get...our competitors are usually not the people already wearing the same jersey as us. Banks control trillions in assets that is simply sitting in cash. Plus on top of that, the veteran isn’t likely as hungry as you are...so they likely won’t be prospecting the same people anyway.
I live in the northeast (now) and have most of my clients in southeast (where I use to live)
I’m now gaining prospects here. Go back to vist my old office 1 out of every 6 weeks. Most clients don’t care and don’t even notice I’m gone. There is no such thing as “territory”
You get clients wherever you can get them
