Great time for QSRs to do all the cost cutting they always wanted to do, now with a much better narrative

This makes total sense. People are getting food delivered more, and while COVID accelerated the trend, it'll stay that way (unless delivery drivers get classed as employees) Having a second drive through lane will be great for their busy periods and delivery. Lots of McDonald's already have two lanes

Two lanes for ordering, but one for collecting food. How many more cars per hour does this allow? I guess it prevents one slow orderer from slowing everyone down.

2 drive thru lanes isn't really the point. As mentioned, several fast food restaurants already do that. There's no precedent to say pepper are going to stop going inside. Virtually no fast food restaurants have reopened their dining rooms - at least in my area.

I have an employee who is very sick with COVID (on life support in the ICU). I would like to do something to support his wife; they have 2 young kids & she’s expecting; I’m sure the stress on her is exhausting. Any suggestions for what would be helpful and appreciated? This is more complicated because they were out of town & he was hospitalized out of state, so it is hard for us to get anything to them in person. Also, I’m concerned about his team members and would love ideas to support them

Sinon, do you have any suggestions for better alternatives? Thanks! 🙏🏻

Last year I lost a good job to Covid-19, so I had to take a job with the first company that offered me employment. I wanted to make it work but my boss is tyrannical and overbearing. I’m miserable working there. My question is: how I conceal my disgust while working with this person? What techniques can I put in place to handle his micro aggressions, while I find something better? Books, articles, ideas? It might take me a long while to find something else and I need to keep my cool.

[Serious] Why do people who are otherwise smart and thoughtful make such illogical arguments when it comes to political/societal matters? Exhibit A: the people only citing the chance of death from covid for an INDIVIDUAL and when we’ve known since about week 2 in this pandemic that it’s the AGGREGATE deaths which we are worried about. I think/hope a lot of these people would never make such clueless statements at work so why is it acceptable when it comes to very serious societal matters?

I’ve been in the same city for too long and want to move, but my agency is getting into a hybrid model. I feel like I missed the timeframe to jump cities during covid and need advice on how to navigate the conversation with my manager. My boss often catches my careless grammatical/spelling mistakes in my communications, so I created a proofreading rubric and even had a colleague proofread it. I finally got the draft perfect today, but forgot to turn off “markup” on track changes. Manager called me out on it, and won’t let me live it down. I work so hard on it and feel incompetent and like a massive failure. Lesson learned. 😞I now feel like I have to overcompensate and prove my worth through other means
