Since Covid-19 who else has lost big accounts?
Hey guys! I wanted to share #HoldThePRess which is an initiative, inspired by #PullUpForChange and 600 and Rising, holding the PR industry accountable for recruiting and cultivating Black talent at all levels. The website with more info and to sign on in support is holdthe-press.com and you can sign whether you are Black or an ally. Also, we are planning on presenting the asks and demands to agencies in the coming weeks and will be sharing via the website and on IG: @holdthe_press.

Do you donate money to any LGBTQ causes? Does your mission, board & advertising outwardly support inclusivity? Have you consulted anyone within your organization on honest pride month initiatives (both internal and external)? I’d start there since pride flag logos don’t mean much if you’re not putting in the work on the backside. Anyway, happy pride month!
I think action speaks louder than words. As someone who’s part of the LGBT+ community, i’d want to hear about actionable steps a company is taking to support the community on top of having a pride flag/logo (i.e volunteer hours for pride events, supporting LGBT rights orgs with donation matching etc.).
In total agreement. Changing your logo means nothing if you’re not taking actionable steps to improve the lives of people in the LGBTQ+ community.

Gay and very tired of seeing vapid logos on pride. Ask your clients to communicate actions taken, even if incremental or initial, to demonstrate they care, they’re starting to make an effort, and that it’s a valid audience beyond just rainbow-lens optics. I’d respect a company that shuts up about it cause they’re not doing anything real, vs one that’s pretending to care.
Queer here. For me it means a lot to see pride flag celebrated during this time. Nevertheless, if agency isnt actually doing anything, not even internal training about these topics, it feels false. I want to trust that if your agency is showing the flag, you are doing something. Even you wouldn’t post about it to social media.
Thank you ! This is why I love the PR bowl.
Okay I understand you want companies to do more but do you explicitly not want companies to have rainbow logos this month?
In short, you have to earn that pride flag (queen)!
