5k + one month at a corporate apartment in NYC...but i have to be at that agency for a year and a half and i've been wanting to leave since week 1.

Got 5K to switch coasts as a junior, but had to be reimbursed so it ended up being like 3.5K

Try and get a cash lump sum.
I've done that and had the agency reimburse receipts.
Receipts were a pain cuz then it's on the agency to decide if what you bought is legit.
I moved from North America to Australia and had to fight for things like toasters cuz our plugs are different. And things like beds cuz it's cheaper and faster to buy new ones than ship old ones.
Also, check the contract. Sometimes they'll specify what the money can and can't be used for.

3k to move from LA to Bay-area no strings attached.

It was 10% of my salary but they decided how it was allocated and made all the decisions (movers, temp housing, storage, etc.) and I had to pay taxes in a lump sum on the housing well before tax time, which sucked. Getting everything in a cash payout to just buy new furniture would have been so much more helpful, I wish that been an option.

Got 10k years ago to move from
SF to Texas and a moving liaison. Wouldn’t have moved without that coin

$13k for Midwest to east coast move

10 years ago I got $8K to move from Toronto to NY. The agency was privately owned. They also paid for and sponsored a visa.

That certainly isn’t the most generous package I have heard of but considering it was at the height of the recession I was surprised to get anything.

Good. I got 7.5 to use as I wished.

I have to work a year and a half at the company before it’s considered fully paid back though. Talk to them beforehand about this so you don’t get any surprises if you leave early.

Got 13k from LA to NYC but could only spend it on certain stuff

6K and one month corporate housing I needed to pay tax on at the end (kinda douchey).

That was from Europe to NYC. Do better than that I’d say.

Amount varies but keep in mind they also offer to pay for your flight (and airfare for family and pets) as well as have corporate housing available.

I had 10K and had to submit receipts, could only use it on IRS authorized expenses.

this gets interesting because moving expenses are no longer tax deductible, so I believe any package had to be reported as income.

Got 3k as a Junior from the south to Boston. And one year “contract”. Super helpful! Always negotiate, they can always offer a little more. Originally only offered 1k.

As a junior, got 2k from middle of East coast to NYC

It depends on the circumstances. For a senior leadership role I got what ended up being $20k net. The company organized and arranged everything including shipping my car, packers, movers and unpackers, lease breaking etc. It was an expensive move but they asked me versus me asking them. When I’ve relocated mid level staff it’s usually a stipend and I’ve done $5k to $7.5k. Sometimes companies have direct deals with relo companies and can do the payment as a direct pass through so you don’t have to pay out of pocket. It’s worth an ask.

Always $5k to cover all expenses

Thanks guys!

Hello! Excited to be part of this group and I need assistance for salary negotiation with Amazon. I am currently in the last round of interview for Sr. Customer Success Manager, Strategic Account Services (3P Marquee Accounts) and Id like to know real world compensations cases before I re-state my range or start the negotiation process with AMZ. Anyone with insight on this roll and pay?

If you were a Jr. Copywriter that could begin your career in NYC or Chicago which would you choose???
Based on the city/ industry opportunities not the agency you start at.

When being awarded stock options, is the strike price negotiated or is it office at time of award?

So I just had the greatest and weirdest experience. I've taken up weightlifting - shout out bodbot app and tonal. As I was completing my last rep for curls - I busted the biggest nut of my life. Like toe curling, tingle down the spine, eyes rolled back, brain foggy in euphoria. I just sat on the bench in shock for like a solid two minutes. Is this a thing? Is this why folks are always working out? I've never felt this level of sensation in my life.

How do you deal with people on your team that have ‘dominant’ personalities? Some people love to carry all conversations and sometimes they are also very extroverted and it’s exhausting to try and keep up with them. They are often the ones to work long hours and weekends too for no reason. It would be nice to be able to speak up and hold a normal conversation with the team without having that one person happy about everything. Can anyone relate? Am I overreacting?

What are good topics to discuss with your mentor?

I’m in a job I don’t like that much and had a promising conversation with a recruiter about a role that I’d be great for and I’d enjoy a ton yesterday who told me they wanted me to meet the team.

Haven’t heard back from them in 24 hours and I’m now assuming I’ve been ghosted, which would be an insane assumption if it weren’t so common in our industry.
