So the best/worst happened and my green card was approved the day after I left the US on a month long trip. I have a valid L1 stamp and a fresh 797 that I was planning use to extend my expired i94. I am able to have the green card mailed to me (as lawyers have advised) but seems so crazy that’s the best option rather than explaining at the border. I am in a country with a slightly dodgy customs/postal system. Any thoughts? My back up right now is paying someone’s airfare to bring it to me.
