Elementary School Teachers

So the police were called to my school yesterday to escort one of my former students off campus and it left me traumatized. I cried in the bathroom for 10 minutes. The criminalization of kids is wrong

Oh no. I'm so sorry to hear that. Maybe you can reach out to him and check on him. See if you can help him.

That's great news.

Like I posted earlier. She is not a criminal nor did she commit any crimes. Teachers didn’t call the police. Nobody used age as an excuse. Your post does NOT belong on this thread.

No, she was in my class last year, that’s why she’s my former student.

What did he do? He’s not in trouble for nothing...

She is NOT a criminal NOR did she commit any crime! It doesn’t matter what SHE did! We have systems in place to handle behavior issues, someone who should’ve been qualified to de-escalated a situation decided to skip protocol and call the police.

I completely agree. I’m so sorry you witnessed it. They are children, not criminals...I work at an early childhood center (pre-k-1st grade) there is a full time police officer at our building. He acts really intimidating and tells kids he will take them to

Exactly!! It’s horrible the message they send to kids!

Just that age does not mean there will be no criminal behavior. In my district I have never heard of this happening but if there were crimes I would hope that teachers were getting the support they need. If it’s criminal why shouldn’t police be involved? This is why I asked my original question, what did the student do? I don’t think that age is a good defense.
