Don't worry he read it, he knows who he is *several thousand others junior staff also just got anxiety reading this*
Tell him you're a weird un-cultured socially inept person who finds harmless behavior such as sitting with, and walking with fellow team members offensive, disturbing, and stressful, but to not mind you at all, as you are an outlier and not representative of the greater population of people on planet earth.
I find that so cute! Maybe they look up to you and want to learn :)
Had this happen to me recently. I thought the junior staff member wanted something or had some questions, but all they did was tail me. I just continued on with my business and after a while they finally approached me and asked me a question. It was so cute in a Bambi sort of way.

Associate on my project does this and at first I was annoyed then I realized I was being an asshole and the kid was just trying to learn and be involved.
Yeah A2.. just let him know that he/shy can fly solo and you have their back.. develop their confidence.
