Anyone got a referral?

They’re being criticized because many of the people who contributed were poor third-world Mormons who couldn’t afford it but did it because the Mormon hierarchy told them the money was going to help needy people (as opposed to amassing a $100 billion fund for the Mormon elite).

like

No the fund is not for the Mormon Elite. Do your research. Though the church may be wealthy- no individual elite person really benefits from that.

The LDS church is being criticized for managing their money well. I don’t think any American has a right to criticize anyone for their finances when most live paycheck to paycheck.

Did you even read the article? The whistleblower complaint is related to their tax exempt status

like

Read that article and my main takeaway was that Mormons get taxed 10% by their church?!?

like

The Church of England does the same thing

Article says most employees make around $150k/year. Not peanuts by most standards, but absolutely peanuts compared to what Carlyle and KKR are paying.

I know a lot of people that work for the church. They do it because they want to. Definitely take pay cuts

Worried about the economy downturn, debating whether to sell the rental properties. Thanks for the advice.

Just told my fairly new bf how much I make and he makes 3 times of how much I’m making right now. I had a big career setback because of covid and my salary hasn’t increased for a while. He cares about money and being rich so much I feel like he might dump me at some point. I won’t be upset if he does because that’s on him, but I feel so insecure about how ridiculously poorly I’m doing in life:(. Just wanted to let it out

Fishes, looking for recommendations on growing business development and sales skills. Finding and growing pipelines, establishing marketing materials, closing sales, and similar for services. I have on the job experience within consulting but never any formal training or education. Entering a new role where I'll need to build organizational capabilities from scratch. Any recommendations on programs, certificates, courses, books, or other similar ideas would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Does anyone use Root insurance? I’m intrigued by the low prices (my quote is about $85 vs my current $150 with State Farm) but am concerned as to whether it’s legitimate. More specifically if I ever do get into a serious accident are they reliable? This assumes same coverage for both policies.

Moms, both husband and I are nearing the end of our parental leave. We live in a two bedroom in NYC. We are thinking of hiring a nanny. The plan is that I would work from one room and husband would work from another room. We can move the changing table and pack n play in the living room, and the nanny and the baby can hang in the living room. Does this sound like a good plan?
