So weird I don’t remember joining this bowl (or why) but my new therapist recommended an ADHD assessment. I’ve been researching symptoms and can relate to a LOT of them (as a child and adult). I’m conflicted because I can stay organized when I track my daily routine (been using my daily planner consistently for 2 months yay) and I’m able to focus using Pomodoro technique. How do you differentiate b/w “normal” forgetfulness, time management issues, etc vs ADHD?
What really did it for me was the realization that I had developed severe anxiety as a coping mechanism for my ADHD. Whenever my anxiety wasn’t as bad, I noticed my procrastination would skyrocket. I also have all the symptoms that don’t relate to productivity like constant mood swings, rejection sensitivity, and hyperactive thoughts—which can’t really be explained and only fit in the big picture of ADHD. The more I’ve learned about it, the more I realized that it explained all the little quirks and frustrations in my life that didn’t make sense on their own. It’s definitely normal to question yourself and it’s common for other ADHDers it seems.
