And then leak an email talking about how this will save the company so much money but all the ACCOUNTANTS will be too naive to notice. Damn we’re effing accountants do you really think we wouldn’t notice?

Where is the entitled piece coming from. Or is that the running joke I’m late on?

Our US leader of talent said in an email that was leaked that transitioning to unlimited PTO will end the entitlement and use it or loss it mentality of accruing PTO

Wait until they switch to bring your own device!

I won’t bring my own device then 😂😂😂. If the firm needs me, they can pay for the device.

What happened to PTO at KPMG?

OP is referring to EY... unfortunately

Does anyone else find it ridiculous that firms require a minimum daily time entry? For example, my firm requires us to bill 6 hours a day, whether or not it’s billable work, we have to have a minimum of 6.0 in our time entry system every day or we get flagged. If we’re on vacation we have to pre-bill 6.0 a day. Why the hell do firms do this???

Im afraid of taking too much vacation time across both trips.

I see a very faint second line testing on the day of my period.. low key freaking out because in the last week on vacation I have dyed my hair with balayage, eaten sushi, drank a beer or cocktail with dinner every night and had two cups of coffee every morning. I feel so stuck in my life (28F). I just want to find my person and start building a life together. I feel like I have nothing to look forward to. I just want to create holiday memories with my new family and instead, I’m looking at another season with my dysfunctional as hell family. I know a negative attitude and comparing myself to others isn’t helping me, but I can’t seem to lift myself out of my funk…

Considering an “attorney development” role at a big firm. Currently midlevel at a big firm. I would be helping with career planning, reviews and staffing. The attorney development role is low six figures (less than market 1st year salary) and 9-6. I don't hate practicing law, just looking for better hours and long term viability. appreciate hearing from anyone who knows folks in similar roles.

Two job opps at the moment. One I love the culture. Decent brand name (could do better) but absolutely loved everyone I interviewed with. The other is the best brand name in the business, but working somewhat busy season hours (not fully busy season hours like 80-90 a week but like 65) and okay with the culture. Basically don’t hate it don’t love it. Will very much accelerate my career way more than option 1. Thoughts?
