I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.
I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.
Any advice or similar experience?

Dude...be careful with that stuff.
Hate to be “that guy” but unlawful sale/possession/use of a schedule II controller drug is in violation of AICPA six principles of professional conduct and a discreditable act under most state boards of Accountancy.
It kind of bothers me that a mostly small but material fraction of current/future CPAs are doing this. We should know better
EY that’s why I said “unlawful” use. Getting a prescription from a doctor is considered legal use of precaution medication
Yeah i specifically dont take it because i feel like you set an unrealistic precedent standard of yourself
You gotta be kidding?? We’re just auditors
Prescribed it since before public. You’re not actually more productive on it most the time. You just feel like you are so you stress less as time passes. Long-term its a terrible approach for motivation to do shit. You also risk adding chemical burnout to physical if you don’t actually need it. Not against it but want to point out it’s not a miracle drug. Take care of yourself while you’re on it
Yiiikes thats toxic
My partners slams adderall all day. Really annoying dealing with him when he’s going 1000 mph
I knew a manager that threw a prescription bottle across an audit table saying “you’ll need this” to her team during busy season
Ticking and tying is serious business...
Accounting is not that hard, chill with the adderall hahaha
^theres a huge difference between giving away 1 or 2 and what this manager allegedly did. I agree it’s not something to support or allow open disregard for like that. But you also sound like you need to relax a bit
Try caffeine pills instead.
I used it once when I sat for the GMAT. It's not something I'd want to use everyday for 3 months, but yeah it helped. I prefer coffee for a focus boost during the workday.
Stimulants like adderall help people focus on routine, monotonous tasks like accounting. If it was more challenging, my ADHD wouldn’t be as big of a factor. Everyone’s body is different but caffeine significantly raises my blood pressure whether on adderall or not which makes me jittery and anxious
That stuff can have a pretty nasty effect if you ever need to get off it - I have a friend who is really struggling with it now. It’s not something to mess around with lightly.
Only knew one or two who would get it from friends during busy season.
Ever since my senior basically requires it. But now it’s not enough.
Yeah, if I’m under tight deadlines, adderal helps me meet them. Otherwise I’m drinking my coffee
I take it as I am clinically diagnosed with adhd; Adderall definitely helps me function like other neurotypicals and the difference is just night and day. Funny thing is I haven’t told anyone at work about my condition as the last thing I need is being asked and have nosy people pry
