How do your companies allocate budget to different products? I’m curious as I’m trying to stand this up a small startup and wanted to get some thoughts

When you’re new to a fairly smallish team, is it best practice to put in 15 mins with each partner for a brief intro? Or is that going above and beyond?

I am taking over some additional lower level work (at the request of boss) to help my team for a variety of reasons. I have some concern that this will impede my ability to get more challenging work. There has been comments about my having young kids, and not wanting me to have so much work it takes too much away from my family. Any advice on whether, and how, to voice this concern to my boss?

I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

Background: got a promotion at current company that didn't come with sufficient increase . After stating my case I was told it would be evaluated next October, which is what prompted the initial job search.
