So with further vaccine rollouts on the horizon, it will still be several months before COVID is "over." Whenever that happens, do you think this bowl will die or be renamed/repurposed to something else?

Tired of being shamed by family for the precautions I’m taking to ensure my family, including 2-month-old, are not putting ourselves in any situation that may cause unnecessary risk of contracting covid. Was called selfish for not attending a bday party (ironic), was made to feel bad when I asked family (who had travelled to Florida for fun, gone out to bars/restaurants, etc.) to get tested before coming to see the newborn. Just be respectful of how others are dealing with the pandemic, please!

I have an employee who has been out on Mat leave since beginning of October. She is scheduled to come back beginning of Jan. Today I received an email from our employee asking if she can work the following schedule for the month of Jan: two week 3 days on, two off and then another two 2 days on, 3 off. This is due to COVID and not wanting to put the child in daycare (which I totally get). Not being in a situation like this before, how do I respond?

How do I explain being made redundant due to a covid-related reduction in headcount in my old strategy boutique? I was thinking of "I had been considering a career change prior to the new situation, but this action has accelerated that process and enabled it by releasing me of my contractual non-competes". The above is more geared towards industry - what about interviews at other strategy consulting firms? I was employed there for 9 months fwiw

I'm moving to Europe in a few months I'm also struggling with depression since covid started. I'm not running away, per se but I definitely could use a fresh start. Loneliness is definitely at the heart of the issue. I've spoken to friends/family about it, and they're doing their best to hang out but everyone got in relationships over covid so their time is limited. I see friends like once or twice a month - much less than pre covid. Any advice about staying sane these last 2 months?

Don’t plan on moving out til it’s over so I have no rent payments, etc. Only debt is student loans which I pay monthly. Have about $25k so far in my savings account and $40k in 401k. Is that enough? Do I put the rest in investments? Want to buy a house within the next 2 years.

Currently a teacher but looking for a career move. What are jobs that a teacher can move to without having to go back to school? Everyone says don’t leave because the benefits are good but when health, dental, and vision rates are rising constantly and I could do my own retirement plan in a different field I’d argue the benefits aren’t something to keep you in a position any longer.

Currently a few weeks left on parental leave and have had a potential opportunity come up with a smaller firm that I think makes more sense for my career goals. The question I have is: assuming I get an offer and the details work out, how do I navigate leaving? Should I provide notice right away? Go back to my current firm for a couple weeks and then give notice? I certainly don’t want to burn bridges. How would you feel on the other side?

Inspired by the q of what firms are doing right, what are firms doing right for first year associates? Midsized firm, fall 2020 start class delayed to Jan 2021 but some started Nov 2020 to help the business group. New fall class just started so I hear the fall 2020/Jan 2021 class is feeling salty/forgotten. What have firms done for first years/ideas to make covid class feel welcome?

Currently mid twenties, and trying to take financing more seriously and would really appreciate some insight on how to allocate my income into savings!
