I’m sick of my taxes supporting these socialist red states!

Blue states (or red) should secede already. We don't need each other. Let the taxes go where they may. Guaranteed the blue states begging for bailouts right now will be hurt more anyway.

Times change. This will pass. The first wave on Nov 3.
It is an outdated framework unfortunately. We need to ammend the constitution to fix a lot of the bs it has.

This is such a dumb take. All different types of people live on those states. How do you propose we divide it up?
Some states have fixed majorities that are progressive, others have conservative majorities. Let the rest figure out where they want to go by voting, either as a whole state or by county. It will not be a clean split, but we are better served by having a mainly conservative country and a progressive country. Than a country ruled by conservative minority against the wishes of the rest of country.
Lol the lib coastal states would starve in about a month, California would run dry in a week. They would have no military and little to no manufacturing. All of their best companies would immediately flee as taxes, crime, and regulations would skyrocket, not to mention a hefty tariff slapped on by the “redneck” states. Half the population would flee as not everyone in those states is a leftist. They’d be begging to rejoin the Union in about 6 months.
You don't use your brain much do you? 🤣
great piece on this https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thenation.com/article/archive/progressive-nation-voter-suppression/tnamp/
Protection: majority of military membership and defensive capabilities are not located in those states, resources: California has some great ag and some minerals but in general lacks the resource infrastructure a lot of the flyover states contribute and in general industry: again, ca with ports could be an outlier but if you look at trade balance between these states and the others you quickly realize that there’s a large neg balance
SA1, I dont think anyone has surveyed the partisan preferrences of CA recruits, so I can't answer with any certainty. I can give you my anecdotal PoV which is probably biased. But of all my veteran friends, those who came and went back to CA are largely independent or more liberal, than the rest.

The right has overplayed its hand.
IL is trending toward junk bond status. CA and NY have 2 of the top 5 highest gini coefficients. There are benefits to having both conservative and liberal ideals represented in government.
EY2, I think diversity of though is nice. But giving a platforn to hate driven, anti-science policies does more harm than good. Especially when those ideas are held by a minority of the population, but have more weight voting, and legislative power than the overwhelming majority of the population's view.
