There's a lot of pressure from parents for us to return to in person instructionin my district despite rising COVID numbers. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Females who’ve moved back with parents due to covid, are you getting constant pressure from parents to get married?? If so, how do you deal with it? I’m 25 and my parents are pressuring me to get married as they think I’ll soon pass the “age”.
Anyone in the city do acting classes as a hobby? Understandably things may have changed with covid but interested to hear where might take these classes around the city?
Anyone travel to Hawaii and get the Covid test, I know there are a few rapid test around Chicago but it seems like the state of Hawaii has very limited partners they accept on their website, I’ve only found Walgreens who does rapid.
In pre-Covid times, I would treat someone to coffee if they referred me/help me get a job somewhere... now in these times, thoughts on sending someone a $5 virtual Starbucks gift card + a thoughtful note to say thank you? Is the gift card overkill?
I don’t have a tribe, but I’d like to have one. This lifestyle, pre-Covid anyway did a number on my social life. Maybe I watch too much tv but how are people finding their girlfriends? 😭 for reference I’m 26!
I’m a single mom. My manager is 65 & no kids & once or twice has made offhand comments. Eg on Presidents Day she was angry as both I & the tax preparer who works in my team asked to work remote as there was no school that day. Generally my employer (I am in industry) has been very flexible over working remote during this Covid time. It got me wondering if being a single mom is going against my career too. I am probably overthinking it but would welcome thoughts from single & moms with partners.
I think my boyfriend is going to propose soon (sometime in the next 3 months). Looking for some solid outfit ideas for when he does it. We hardly have gone anywhere due to covid so I’m planning on dressing up anytime we do something from here on out 😅
How do you think the corona virus will affect rent prices and the overpopulation in NYC going forward? Do you think this will impact certain areas of the city more than others?
Anyone planning on going to Hawaii in the next couple of months? Any ideas if it’s starting to open up? I know soon you can take a covid test before you arrive and not have to quarantine
I haven’t traveled since covid started. Do I have to take my mask of when getting past the TSA checkpoint?
My stress is so high I'm out of words. Sticking with screams instead. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/02/04/parenting/working-moms-coronavirus.html
Has anyone received the COVID vaccine here? What were the side effects that you experienced? Mine seem to be a little different than what I’m seeing online
Women in my 30s. I’m religious, my SO is not. He agreed to come to church with me on sundays, but due to covid we haven’t had time to give this a shot. Do I believe that he will keep up his word ? Anyone broken up due to religious differences? Anyone with a partner with different religion ? How did you deal with it ? How important is it ?
Recently laid off - is it better to be upfront about your current work situation in resume and job applications or should you appear as though presently employed? Feels like less of a stigma right now due to covid but wondering what’s best practice.
Anyone else hitting the COVID 19 wall in their new relationships? (Ie, not seeing each other is limiting progression) if so how do you navigate?
The number of COVID cases on the rise again, folks. Wear masks and social distance! Here’s hoping the rise in number of cases is just because of increased testing, but the uptick in number of hospitalizations in not good news. This is by no means “disappearing” as the President continues to claim.
I'm betting some creative at John St right now is trying to find a way to claim credit for corona virus as a stunt for no frills or cashmere toilet paper for their 2020 AOY video.
So I've had multiple interviews at a NY agency for an account role. Spoken with the President but felt I didn't do as well as I could. Maybe a bit long winded in parts of my response. The whole vid..
Super late bloomer, didn’t graduate college till 26, got fired from my first job because I didn’t have any responsibility, lived under the safety net of my parents until I was 27...
I salute and admire all🐟but have special respect for those who are on the journey without "the advantages". The advantages of a role model, sinecure, legacy pref. There are a lot of us. #Grateful.
Anyone work / heard of experiences working at Bloomberg? Thinking about applying for a position there.
I’m currently working on a project where I’m in a group of four. Someone said “hey I’m in your group”, and I said “sorry, the group is full”, and they said “when did we pick up this other person, we can’t do groups of 5”. They aren’t picking up the hint...
Hi 🐟, starting a grad scheme in Management Consulting at Accenture UK. Do you have any insights on standing out? I would like to transfer to their Strategy practice ASAP. On a side note, had a bit of bad luck as I aimed at Strategy Consulting in the UK so rejected BCG Poland for it and failed in a final round to McK UK, but then A did not think I got enough experience for Strategy so I'm looking for a genuine advice on this. I suppose interview wise I'm there.
Did anyone have to liquidate some/all of 401(K) due to financial hardship from COVID? If so how do you show that when preparing your 2020 tax return?
What are some exit opportunities for a PCS senior? I have no idea what I would go do outside of public and I don’t want to do book keeping....
Our firm told everyone no bonuses this year due to the pandemic. However, people like myself with high utilization received a “bonus” in terms of a gift card. My director notified me of this, but the other day my boss was mentioning how no bonuses this year really sucks. I was told by the director to not mention it to anyone but I figured if anyone knew I got one it’d be my boss. I feel super uncomfortable now because do I essentially lie to my boss because I’m not supposed to talk about it.
Any recommendations for top hotel in Niagara Falls (Canadian side). Want to be close to the falls, but my mom has bad knees so can’t walk up any of the big hills. TIA
Need to quit before year end so I can cash out this PTO. Otherwise I lose and leave anyway. Anyone thinking the same?
Let's see if anyone can guess how I feel about Monday morning and another week of endless Zoom meetings.
