Sober Sunday check in ... how is everyone doing?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

What’s the deal with R\West?? Work looks boring but maybe I’m wrong?

Why do recruiters always want to set up 10 minutes to talk as opposed to sending out positions or communicating over email?

A unit in TCS is trying to retain me saying if they revise the ctc (from their unit bugedt) and provide an Indonesian onsite opportunity, will you revoke your papers. Is it worth taking this chance? The team is very small of just 10 people and I am not sure how much will they provide for onsite. Pls advice as not a single question was asked in the interview apart from expectations.

Recently got called for an interview for strategy/ operations role by a Faang company. I had my first screening call with the hiring manager, mostly all behavioral questions so hard to tell the result. The one area I felt I could probably brush up on is program management as my current industry is Pharma and tech industries are different. Walked back from the liquor store between calls in tears because I can’t control myself anymore. Am doing an intake meeting with a Intensive Out Patient care provider next week. Will be doing therapy from 5:30p-8:30p like three times a week for two weeks. How do I tell my team that I’ll have hard stops for these sessions? I don’t feel comfortable sharing my alcoholism with them

It is very difficult for me to come to terms with my spiritual illness because of my great pride, disguised by my material successes and my intellectual power. I started working for a bank and am going through the background check. They found an arrest which was dismissed and the file was sealed a few days after the check. They’re requesting the police report on top of the court order to seal. The police report is BAD. During the arrest (DUI) they wrote the report to make me seem like a complete lunatic. Embellished on several elements of the case. I am worried that giving them this report will cause me to be let go.

Hello, I’m looking for accountability partners to help quit smoking hookah. I was clean for about 3 yrs, and have relapsed recently and finding it hard to quit smoking it.

Stop smoking weed and my life has really improved I do want to try it again to relax for example but not any time soon.

This time last year I knew I needed to stop drinking, but I couldn’t. This year, though, I’m putting my health first. Starting day 2 of sobriety and hope to keep it up. Thanks to this group for all the support and encouragement shown to those of us struggling with such powerful addictions.

Starting on my journey to sobriety today from sex addiction. I’ve been clean from alcohol for several years but my therapist has pushed me to start attending AA meetings in addition to SAA meetings. I know I can’t overcome this alone.

New to recovery and had an intake call with an IOP program. They said all sessions will be on Zoom and I’m really nervous that I won’t connect to the program virtually. Anyone start rehab virtually?
