Feels like the stuff an industry that gets into the psyche of consumers can help solve
We already make people spend money to give to other people who can't afford stuff. The process is called "taxation". Most local and state governments are highly adept at this process, and advertising it is not required.

The thread is not for some ...the problem is one of global scale
Listen motherfuckers! We got toothpaste to sell. Everyone shut up and get back to work!
Given your global perspective, you're most certainly aware of the work done on a global scale by numerous UN agencies, USAID and a plethora of substantial NGOs, to include ICRC/RC & DWB/MSF. I'll bet one of them could use a decent analyst or strategist to more accurately and effectively target their programming across a broad range of unique cultures and societal challenges. Or you could just pay your taxes, part of which directly or indirectly funds the above.
LMFAO I think it's naive to say that any government agency is adept at really anything
I'm sure those who have been audited by the IRS would disagree.
Not trying to compete with all the multilateral organizations. Just noodling a thought about how we and the brands we work with can elevate the issues, make them top of mind and make them our collective problem to solve. Don't kill it yet ...just think quietly about 20k+ kids dying every day because of no food ...and what you might have thrown away last week.
@OP - Good question! Let me ask my strategist!
Sounds good to me!

👆50% of the Indian population, or half a billion people, don't have access to or use a toothbrush/toothpaste. And they are too poor to afford it. How can your toothpaste brand access that market potential?
For those working working with food brands consider the following:
2.1 billion obese people in the world (too much to eat); many also spending $ on gym memberships and diet programs
~ 1 billion hungry people in the world (more malnourished or undernourished)
Opportunity knocking for some equilibrium. Brands have a role ...beyond minuscule charitable contributions.
@Wunderman1 isn't it kind of the point to make us think harder and differently even if we don't know the answer yet but see space for an opportunity that is staring us in the face? All of the status quo options still leave us with mind boggling sadness in the world
