Any recommendations for things to read to learn more about business/corporate structures? I’m a first year associate aiming to become an AUSA. I didn’t take any corp classes in law school because the topic bores me to tears. I hoped that I’d mostly be doing white collar at my firm but here I am confused and drowning in complex commercial lit. I want to be knowledgeable/be an asset to the matters I’m on while I’m here even if I don’t want to do this for the rest of my career.
Should I ask the partner? 2 years ago I told my boss I was planning to move overseas (same company/same role). She was reluctanct but agreed anyways. Two weeks ago I was asked to deliver a recommendation letter for a position and so I did: I asked her and reminded her almost everyday to write one. She simply didn't respond any of my messages. What should I do? Not only this, she is pretending I'll keep working here forever, cause she just doesn't stop pushing long term projects. I'm frustrated ☹

One of my favorite things about working from an office is that my team has a strong emphasis on collaboration and communication—we have daily stand-ups and weekly meetings where everyone on the team gets together to talk about what everyone's working on. That's definitely made it easier to stay motivated throughout the week.

I've been given a lot of responsibilities, which is great. But I don't feel like any of them are being prioritized or delegated appropriately. I'm getting a lot of pressure from my manager, who is quite demanding and doesn't seem to understand that I need time to get things done and learn new skills.

Have I just had bad luck with the companies I've been at or is it like this everywhere? I've had 7 managers in my 4 years of experience, 3 in one year at my first position (which is why I left) and now 4 at the 2nd company in 3 years. There has been a mix of people leaving and people getting fired but the instability feels extreme.
