In their defense, they’re a small company based in Germany. They probably dont have the access and - potentially - pull to a more diverse, highly qualified group of partner candidates that mbb and other top strategy firms do. At least thats what I get when I see this.

I'd say the culture doesn't support having a family and career - it's semi-diverse at younger levels in the US now but they can't retain diversity through life stages

You mean the one woman and one Asian dude? Nailed it! ✔️

They managed to find a woman!! Well done team. Next time, try looking for a person of color as well to show how inclusive you are.

@Accenture 🤣😂🤣

Sure, let’s denigrate the hard work and countless hours those people put in. I guess they should step aside and give up their dreams because they had the gall to be born with a Y chromosome and a light skin tone. They definitely got to choose their race/gender and I’m sure their past is littered with minorities they stepped on and over to get where they are.

On an unrelated note SA1, who did you vote for?

Why are we discussing a paint manufacturer on this forum?

funnylike

Not subtle at all, but sure. 🤣🤣🤣

Wow. That’s a bit sad to think that somehow in the evolution of people’s careers at Roland Berger the “top” became basically old white males. What happened to the rest of the “crop” for these to be the only ones deserving such career achievement?

You write so eloquently and I loved reading this piece - so true and aptly described.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic? Are you saying new partner admits should be 50-50 white vs colored?

@senior consultant 2 Oppressed and marginalized groups that did not benefit from being enslaved can keep up with the difference between HIGHLY offensive terms 🙄

likesmart

Btw how do we know that 30% of the “white guys” on the right aren’t actually a mix of Argentines, Portuguese and Italian - maybe they are first gen immigrants. Isn’t “white” too broad a term? Also I see two Asian dudes on the extremities. Surprised to see 0 Indian brethren

likefunny

SA1, I love white men however let’s not promote inequality or look to subdue evidence. There are no blacks in that picture and the majority are white male - don’t care if they are aryan or not they all look alike - gender and race. Nuances of Italian and Portuguese don’t disguise the evident - in Consulting, leadership feels more comfortable with people who look like them.

Well hang on, the green sweater guy might be south Asian... *zooms in* ... nope! Another white.🤦

Good

Oh but the green sweater

funny

As wonderful as it is, I fear the guy with the tied, over-the-shoulder sweater may cancel it out

What.....only ONE green sweater?! 🤔

Lol

From the RB site - look at the countries and their homogeneous origins as opposed to a melting pot like the US. What is the right number of PoC partners that are needed to make everyone happy 3 women in Germany, I person of color and Muslim sounding partner in Bahrain ?

Woman here. Has anyone noticed that there is ONLY ONE woman in that picture?

Nah.... too fried from all the planes, the flu and the work.

My job let’s me choose between NYC and SF. I’m a young guy - from a dating perspective is one better than the other? I know people talk about the gender inequity in SF but my sense is during the pandemic a lot of guys have moved out of the Bay Area to cities like NYC, LA etc.

If your law firm has no attorneys who are female or people of color, I’m not referring cases to your firm. It’s 2020, do better. Diversity needs to stop being seen as “a nice thing to have” and it needs to be necessary to stay in business. Diverse perspectives are how law firms succeed, I want to see more firms that understand that.
