I’ve been prepping hard for M&A technicals (reading R&P, biws400) for a move to an MM IB firm but got hit up to interview for a T2 consulting firm (LEK, EYP, OY).

My goal is to break into PE potentially but I’m not sure if it’s worth putting in effort for T2 consulting interviews because I believe exits from T2 are more limited compared to an MM IB like JEF. My question really boils down to how do exits from a T2 compare to that of a top MMIB? Appreciate any and all insights!

Please please do not ever use CTC comparison between current and next company. If you get an offer, do an in hand calculation. Some companies add Retirals like Employer PF, Gratuity along with Insurance, furniture allowance as part of your CTC. Others don't. Sone also have higher variable package. So when you do a CTC delta you may get a 20% hike but when you discount the above things you will fall short and may end up making less. So choose wisely.

What would you do? Have about ~ $350k in equity across 2 rental properties bringing in $5450/month with 15yr mortgages. Rental 1 (worth $310k) will be paid off in 7yrs. Rental 2 (worth $615k) will be paid off in 13yrs. We lived in these properties before moving and renting them out. Planning on increasing rents next year and will bring in an extra $450. Goal is to get to 10-15 doors in the next 3-5yrs. How would you go about leveraging the equity into more properties?
