From friends at PA consulting who I know, they already pay above market rate and have good bonuses…. I would be surprised if they did
Can I ask roughly what that rate is for PA?
My understanding is that the pay rises for people with 2.5+ years were instituted because their salaries were trailing behind / hadn’t kept up new joiners of equivalent grades. So basically market rates have outpaced YoY internal increases and this was put right for those impacted.
That being said, we’ve been told for the last few months that an external benchmarking firm has been brought in to review salaries across the board. No idea when any of those results will come out though / when changes will be seen.
I've heard rumblings of a general alignment to market rates and looking to increase salaries. Those who are new joiners have usually negotiated at the top of the band and will be unlikely to see any.
They are good at keeping talent and likely want to pre-empt people leaving for better salaries, so looking to keep up with the market. Helps as consulting is hot right now.
PA gave pay increases last year to individuals who’d been with the company for over 2.5 years (and with good performance). They increased my salary by 7.2k as a result, and I think they’ve also increased the overall salary paybands as well, so if you are applying for a role now, you can negotiate a slightly higher salary within a rank (prob about 10% higher than before), but I haven’t heard of any company wide increases happening for individuals who’ve joined in the last 2.5 years. As SC1 said, PAs salary and bonuses are already very good and higher than Big4, from what I can understand.
Appreciate the insight. How does that impact the salary bands for C and SC?
What’s the upper limited for C? Do you know whether new starters have salary increase restrictions in place for a certain amount of time? Be that firm wide or inflationary
I think at the moment it’s about 60k, but PA announced last week that they’re giving firm wide salary increases, so it’s likely to be higher than 60k from April onwards :)
