Some success, now what? I started a solo practice July 2020. I’ve been successful in building a book of business sufficient to satisfy my overhead and provide me with a respectable income. I want to grow my practice somehow, but I’m stuck at figuring out how. I do mainly corporate transactional work and some litigation. Any advice?
We started by adding assistants and paralegals as we got busier and income coming in.
Completely understand! We’re in CA but down in OC. Happy to connect and see how we can help each other out, DM if you’re interested.
I’m in a similar boat and have been going through a soul-searching exercise of what is it that I really want to do. Have seen others in similar positions decide to grow by retraining attorneys, recruiting fresh out of law school, hiring ex-biglaw attorneys, adding paralegals, experimenting with tech, etc. I think it really depends on what kind of firm you want to have and how you want to get there.
I’m happy to bounce ideas and share my experiences. Ironically, working with our web design agency really forced me to answer a lot of these questions. I’ve had some good luck with contract attorneys, mostly from my existing network, but it’s been tough to source good ones. If you’re interested, DM me and I can share my b/g and maybe we can jump on a quick call.
Thanks! Any idea which ones may be better than others? Feel free to DM if that’s easier.
How did you get clients,m
Variety. I’ve been practicing for 10 years. Have a big network and my last gig was GC.
