I’ve worked at the same hospital 17 years. I’ve been in case/UR for almost 8. I make 32.00/hr. I have trained several nurses, and a few years ago heard one on the phone talking and she was making almost 9.00/hr more than me. My last review I told them I knew I was at the bottom of the pay scale and wanted them to review my pay. I have not heard back yet, but I’m about ready to jump ship. Bedside nursing received 2 raises during covid. My department did not get it, despite going to the bedside.

So I just did my first post-Covid client dinner. Was at their initiation, not mine. I normally really enjoy, but could not stop watching the spittle and food particles flying across the table. I really don’t feel like I can turn down a client a social invite, especially given the slow down in work across much of our firm - curious how other’s are/would handle?

I deal with a team that I ask for help to show me how to do something after requesting a task to be done. I am happy to work on the task and learn. All they do is make sure to cover their butt by making an e-mail trail showing the bare minimum of information and expect me to get a task done. After, I tell them I need you to show me how to get the task done and shadow me in order for me to get the task done 15-20min.

Agency life is starting to lose its luster. Transitioning to a product marketing manager role in house for a brand/industry I’m passionate about seems like it would be a logical transition. I think the related/transferable skills are definitely there, but some JDs seem wildly out of reach. Do you think places are receptive to this type of transition and see value is hiring from agency world for a product marketing manager role? Has anyone made the transition?
