Somebody I know is flying across the country to ski with their family without quarantining for 10 days after one of their kids got COVID. They’ll be skiing in Taos with their family of five. They had their trip planned for half a year I think and refuse to cancel it. Call people who believe in COVID sheep. The husband and another kid already had it from another vacation. Should I try to do anything or just let it be?

Anyone they come into contact understands the risks and choose to be out living their lives. Your friend is also a big boy/girl and can make their own decisions. Who TF do you think you are?

Call the airline and local health department

Call the airline, call the hotel, and call the ski resort(s).

For the sake of humanity- report them.

This pandemic is revealing who people really are.

I rarely encourage snitching but 100% call the local health department and airlines.

Call the health department of wherever the positive test was done. If it’s New York State you can call 1-833-789-0470. Other states probably also have info on reporting people not observing quarantine. You could save a life by keeping them from traveling.

This is bad behavior, but this is america, and it’s (IMO, unfortunately) totally within this family’s right to do so (given the lack of any real quarantine enforcement measures in this country).

Statistically speaking they're going to be directly responsible for at least one death so absolutely report them. This pandemic has been a great reminder of who among us would have refused to turn their lights off in London during the blitz or who would have disobeyed food rationing rules during the war.
