What’s really psychopathic is being emotionally invested in when folks hop on calls - only something to consider!
Fair point. If this does make me psychopathic, I rather be my kind of psycho than the one that makes people [consistently] join calls early.

I do that sometimes if I had nothing else to do. I've forgotten to join meetings if I miss the start time.
I came from the Marine Corps and some old habit die hard. ‘To be on time is to be late’
Lol, all the veterans on my project start meetings 3-5 minutes early. Actually tho it’s a lot of great bullshitting before the meeting starts.

One of my team members starts the team meetings as soon as the 15 minute Outlook reminder pops up
Someone must’ve hurt them.
Sometimes I join early because I’m having connection issues. Or I am leading and I want to make sure my screen sharing is ready go go. Jesus you people are brutal to one another. Let stuff go. It’s 3 minutes. Imagine if this were an in person meeting?
Agreed BAH1! I also work at Booz haha
I get annoyed by people who habitually join meetings late and make us all sit there awkwardly for a few minutes “waiting for everyone to hop on.” I just want to get through the agenda and get out of here ASAP, man.
They’re just as bad!
I also join 2-3 minutes early, especially if I’m leading the meeting. I’ve definitely had a few situations where I forgot to join and ended up late. Rather be early than late 🙃
If I see that a meeting's set to start in 3 minutes and I begin another task, I'm likely to get distracted and forget to join. I'd rather not take that risk and just join the meeting muted and wait til everyone joins.
That's quite a leap there OP. What insights can we draw from folks who never disconnect from a call and wait for the host to end the meeting?
I join 15-10 early every time
I had a manager start meetings 10-15 mins early, and of course I got notifications when he did that. It felt so passive aggressive and weird. Like dude I’m still being productive & working on stuff in the 10-15 min before a meeting
How do you know that, unless you were even earlier??
You get an MS Teams notification when the first person joins.
