Someone once told me having the Enrolled Agent credential is better than having a masters in tax. I think they lied.

Can’t sign a tax return with a Masters 🤷🏼‍♂️

Should have been more specific, sorry…

“Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), have unlimited practice rights. This means they are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before.”

EA perfect for individual taxes

😖😞

One is a degree, the other is a credential. Depends on what you want out of each.

For some people who don’t have CPA and not planning to take the exam, EA is better than master in tax and nothing. For young ambitious people get masters and CPA is the path.

an EA can get u promoted to manager in PA, a master does not.

Ms in tax you can’t get more into consulting advisory and make that money 💰

It seems like Fortune 500 companies rely on being a Fortune 500 company when recruiting. Just interviewed with one and while the base pay is fine (about average for the location) it is:

- contract to hire
- no relocation package
- no PTO until hired
- wants you to move within 3-4 weeks and start
- have to be onsite 3-4 days a week
- no sign on bonus
- no guarantee of hire after the 6 months

After all costs taken into account it would be around $20k more before taxes.. Seems so stingy?

Question for my fellow investors - I’m currently tracking “ROI” as my initial up front investment against tax, property, interest, etc. As the principal gets paid down, is that considered part of the denominator in my ROI, or should I hold that steady at my initial investment and just consider the principal part of “income”?

I just spoke with a software architect that went back to school to learn software engineering after law school because it was more lucrative and had less hours. He’s worked his way up and has the skills and authority to work 6:30am-10am and gets to work remotely. We discussed that results/outputs is better than billable time like in law and public accounting. Yet, his parents and others would view him as “lazy” but he does his job and makes a fantastic living. Time>Money and Results>Hours
