It’s sad how far they’ve fallen since Publicis Groupe bought them. It’s only been 6 or 7 years and they drove that place into the ground

Publicis had 25% or 49% of BBH at one point in the early 2000s, they were doing alright, still having their long serving clients globally such as Levi’s, Johnnie Walker then etc. John Hegarty was still active and they regularly put out epic spots especially from the London office. Then a few years ago significantly became 100% owned by Publicis. But similar to what Publicis did with Fallon, whenever the numbers fall under the business quota in any fiscal year, Publicis would brutally step in and send in their assigned executives plucked from the other Publicis offices and it’s all downhill from there and set the shops back several years, making it really hard to bounce back from. Sometimes they’re are self-inflicted. But take a look at all the Publicis shops what they’ve become. It’s sad really.

What Sape plants within the Groupe? Do you really think any remaining Sapient execs have any sway whatsoever what happens within Publicis Sapient, let alone the entire Groupe ?

Brighthouse financial and Grubhub? Everything else seems to have gone quiet or is project based (eg. haven’t seen any recent Netflix work in ages)

What exactly did Publicis do to cause it? Looks more self inflicted, at least from the outside. Hasn’t that office always been a bit rocky business wise? Like when they lost Cadillac

Pub Groupe is very controlling and raise freezes are a quarterly occurrence. Raise proposals need to go to Paris HQ for approvals, and that place is a bit of a black hole. There’s very little transparency, people wait from 6 months to 18 months to actually see the money and they tend to only pay people what they’re worth once they’re already leaving for another agency. It’s very organized but very cost conscious

I know people there and they love it. BBH isn’t very good at PR or promoting themselves which I just don’t understand. Maybe too humble? They did have a run of incompetent CEOs that didn’t seem to know how to manage publicis or the business but the work has remained strong and consistent despite all of that.
