Someone told me Bill Gates was one of the biggest land owners in the US, does anyone have an idea about how much land he owns and where it’s located?

Based on what you wrote, I was intrigued and decided to look on the internet, Louisiana (28,000 hectares), Arkansas (19,000 hectares), and Nebraska (8,000 hectares), he owns a large part of the country, and I would like to know his strategy in everything this.

like

huh, I had no idea. That's impressive.

You tryna pay him a visit?

Most of this land is located in the Western United States, and he owns large tracts of land in Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota.

Bill Gates is not one of the biggest landowners in the US. In fact, he only owns a little over 2,000 acres of land. Most of this land is located in Washington State, with a small amount in California.

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

With a multi year market bill run, real estate crushing it, cryptos and startups flourishing, the number of millionaires, decamillionaire, centimillionaires and billionaires is growing rapidly. Add inflation in the mix and I worry that my former FIRE goal of 10M by 50 just won’t cut it the way the world is moving. Heck, I have more friends than ever sitting with a household net worth of 10M at 35-40 not to mention all that boomer wealth transfer coming their way. How to plan?

It is common practice at my small firm by two main partners to fly through transactions for clients regardless of potential conflicts (for the company) or issues that may arise. It is often chaotic and has led to lawsuits being filed by investors against the clients. I know this is expected from time to time but I feel like I’m not getting the proper exposure to doing deals the right way. Would it be better at a larger firm or is this common anywhere? Mostly deal with microcap companies.
