Someone told me utilization doesn't really count in June at EY since it is after year end cycle and before the next year starts. Any truth to this? Seems like a good time for some 4 day weekends.

Generally utilization doesn’t matter as long as you are not at the bottom. Even partners confirmed that utilization doesn’t really mean anything so don’t over work yourself.

Before LEAD it worked like that because utilization wasn’t updated for May/June when doing performance reviews. With LEAD now, who knows

^can confirm. I might be close to the bottom this year but due to parental, I get an automatic pass. Hooray!

This question comes up regularly. Your management and leadership are looking at your rolling 12 month utilization when determining ‘ratings’.

Low utilization (if an issue) is usually more a symptom of already getting low reviews and people intentionally not staffing you on their projects, than a cause of getting bad reviews. Regardless, Hume utilization is always really low. Most partners have long since hit their revenue numbers and most that work for will intentionally delay opening new codes until July

Hours real talk. I've always been very "bill what I work" so that means light weeks I'm destroying my own utilization/billing initiatives instead. Meanwhile peers bill 40-45 regardless. Am I an idiot?

A3 up for senior. Strong PDs on about 60% of snapshots, utilization just over 100% and over 400 overtime hrs. Chances I'm a tier 1? Was a tier 3 my first 2 yrs but had a very strong year. 😁
