Does anyone work for Omnicell as a Clinical Trainer? I’m in the interview process now and communication has not necessarily been that great with it being seemingly rushed then with gaps and then being passed to other recruiters who asked me the same question and act like I should be further along in the process then having to get back to me because they need to talk to somebody else. It appears very disorganized but not sure if this is just an HR issue or if there’s a reason

The associate poaching game is getting mind-boggling. Yesterday I received a call offering me partial equity status at a blackbox V20. I have ample expertise, but I don't have a portable book of business. It seems like some of these efforts are either setting people up to soar or ruin their career with no in between.

Former procrastinators—how did you stop putting off work? Currently a first year doing M&A at a V10 shop. Coasted through undergraduate and law school with minimal effort but it looks like things have finally caught up with me and I’m struggling to tread water. Weirdly enough, I’m much better off when things are on fire (one of the reasons I picked M&A) but I can’t get myself to work unless I have a deadline looming over my head (or have blown past one). Would appreciate any advice.

Not getting it?

Anyone else feel like they are not cut out for this? I'm a 1st year who is struggling. Everything is beyond me and I have no idea what I am doing. I struggle to figure out when it's appropriate to ask questions, which results in asking a stupid question or failing to raise an important one. It takes forever for me to complete assignments and when I do, I am rarely sure if it's correct. Lately I have been making really stupid mistakes and I feel like I am not improving at all.

I am considering leaving my current firm to go in-house for better hours (I love my firm but I think I have burned out.) However, after some digging, the in-house position seems pretty busy also and I’d likely be taking a pay cut of approx. $15-20K. Any thoughts on whether this is a worthwhile change? Any questions I should be asking about the potential new company to assess whether their definition of busy is different than my firm’s definition of busy?

I gave notice on Monday at my current firm, and Partner says he wants to discuss my move further (probably to try to keep me at the firm). I already accepted new firm’s offer but Partner still hasn’t discussed anything with me and at this point I need to start discussing with the other Partners about my transition. Should I pressure the Partner that wants to discuss my move further and let him know I’d like to start the transition process or should I wait for him to reach out? TIA

Leaving to Clerk in the Fall: Bonus Considerations.

I am leaving to clerk for a federal district judge in September. I expect that I will return to my current firm after. Should I expect some kind of handshake offer/discussion before I leave? And, if so, has anyone heard of bonus negotiations being a part of that conversation? It doesn’t seem feasible to ask for my 2022 when I leave in September, but what about asking for my full year-end bonus when I return in 2023 (rather than prorating)?
