Sometimes I feel like I won’t survive the pandemic. Does anyone else feel like it?

I have joined oracle on monday. They told me the project is in Angular as I was working on Angular latest framework. Today I noticed the code on shared screen. I can not work on older technology. I have not received laptop yet and I called manager about tech stack of project then he told me that yes it is not angular project. What should I do.. should I continue here and collect laptop ? Can I change project? Is angular projects in Oracle?

Which career path should I take? I am a placement student in the UK. I am between becoming a software engineer and taking the path to sustainability. My background: electrical & Mech engineering. I am looking for career prospect & great salary w WLB. Additionally I was thinking in getting in consulting to boost my career.

I generally have a few lessons in which I can use Pixar shorts to teach students how to identify and discuss literary signposts, how to identify and explain the development of theme, character traits, and other narrative elements. What are some of your favorite shorts? I am trying to incorporate activities where my students get to choose their own clips for independent practice with these skills and need a variety to draw from.

Is it better to open a 529 thru a brokerage or thru the state? I want to be dramatic, I’m lonely, and I’m melancholically not doing anything because the impending sense of doom prohibits my ability to work productively so I languish in learned helplessness as I sit in a rut trying to get myself to do things

Anyone else live alone and single? Sometimes when I have a boring day/week I start feeling hopeless that the rest of my life could be just as mundane going forward unless I do something to change it. It usually passes, but I had hoped it would get better as the world is opening up more. I have hobbies that help and attended some therapy sessions earlier in the year, it’s just a lingering feeling. Does anyone else feel this way?

Does anyone here struggle with basic things at work? For example, being on time. I know it sounds basic, It’s not about waking up in time, my morning gets filled with something else, I misjudge time, I find something else to procrastinate. Second, filling out admin forms, I miss things, misunderstand. I am feeling really down on myself. I am I high performer and always deliver on complex projects, but these things, it’s like I’m totally out of it. Could it be ADHD? Depression (I’m medicated)?

Curious for people’s perspective on CBT vs other types of therapy. Have been doing CBT for a while but I am wondering if that’s best for me.

Does anyone feel that their anxiety symptoms are more physical than mental - e.g. not causing anxious thoughts/dwelling on specific things, but causing anxious feelings? Is this normal? Does therapy help this? Currently on medication but wondering if therapy would help at all.

Started using TalkSpace recently and really have not connected with my therapist after 3 sessions, but I get so anxious about the prospect of telling her I want to try someone else even though it’s one of the touted benefits of the app. I’ve contemplated just ghosting and changing my therapist in my account, but don’t want to do that either.
I know this seems like such a minor thing, but it’s really stressed me out. What is the proper etiquette here / how do I approach this?

Just got my yearly appraisal - despite being a rockstar feel that I was let down. I’ve literally done the work of 2.5 ppl over the past year and the way I have been treated (likely a backstab from some leaders) is making me depressed. I don’t feel like going back to work now. Don’t know how to handle this.

Is it normal to feel more anxious when you first start taking Zoloft? I’ve been taking it at bedtime and when I wake up I am super anxious. Then at around noon, it calms down and I feel in a better mood. On 50mg.

Why is it that the mental health of guys is ignored, the few friends and family I have just say I’m complaining but I’ve been struggling with suicidal thoughts and don’t know what to do, therapist just gave me antidepressants which made things worse, idk what to do anymore

the guy i’m dating barely makes an effort. sitting here at one of my favorite places, trying to give him an opportunity to not make me always do all the work (always going to his place, etc) - yet he still can’t make it happen. wtf am i even doing. such a waste
