Has anyone gone to SHRM conferences? And is anyone headed to the one in New Orleans this June? What have your experiences been and is it worth the money? I’m considering it to expand beyond the talent acquisition realm and also to get back into some in-person networking but afraid it’ll be a waste of time and money.

I've been in manual testing for 80% of my career. Despite attempts to transfer into a more code-centric role, I never got the opportunity to do so. Now that I'm in a management role, I feel like it's too late to enhance my programming skills.
Suppose I want to transition into a developer role, will self-study be sufficient for passing the necessary requirements for coding jobs? Lately, I've been learning python and using what I learned by solving problems at leetcode.
Looking to plan a weekend trip with friends from Philly and NJ- having a hard time finding somewhere nice that’s relatively equal distance driving between Boston and them, any suggestions? Considered the Catskills or somewhere in Connecticut but just getting overwhelmed looking at so many towns.. any places you’d recommend? Hiking trails nearby or scenic views would be a plus
Feel like I’ve come to dread the monthly check-ins with my counselor. Even though I’ve got good feedback, healthy utilization, etc., it seems like it’s not enough in these conversations. Advice?
Any firm hiring in central Maryland for Financial Management? 5 YOE with interim Secret.

It's funny how our entertainment industry never misses the chance to report each year how diversity in Hollywood is still wanting and then do absolutely nothing about it. Yes queen, give us nothing, lol.
Your suggestions please! 🔥
I have 6 years of experience in Higher Ed Recruitment (combo of running my own agency + in-house).
If I move into tech in-house recruitment now, how much salary I should be on? Location: Ireland (euro)
I have been applying to analyst roles for various companies and requesting to connect with recruiters from the companies on LinkedIn. I send a connection message introducing myself and telling them what role I applied for in their company. So far I haven’t any responses (even if they accept the connection request and I message them again afterwards). Should I be trying a different approach?
Feeling trapped in my own house from working from home too long. I need a place to go to work everyday that isn’t my house but obviously not a lot of options since a lot of things are closed due to Covid. Anyone else find a way to deal with this?
Is it weekend yet? 🥱

Gonna be awkward when I leave one MBB for another MBB. It’s a promotion and better pay, but might a bit awkward with my old colleagues…

Like, you wish you hadn't had gone MBB and you felt like it was a detriment to your career?

Maybe this was already addressed but interested in hearing MBB thoughts about BCG CEO elect not coming from an “elite school” (UT). Not looking to stir conflict but genuinely interested if this opens the conversation more broadly that great talent is everywhere and not just at Ivys.

Currently at Consultant level making 95k in the DC area, up for promotion this year at Deloitte. Got an offer from Booz Allen of $110k at Associate level. I countered with $120k. I feel like they will meet me in the middle at $115k. Should I stay firm at $120k or am I asking for too much/not enough??
I accepted an offer for a reputed firm and realized there is no mention of severance in the offer letter in the event they decide to end the employment. It is normal for firms to not offer severance?
I just received an offer from Deloitte USDC coming on as a Investigations Senior Consultant @ $110k, $5k signing bonus, 100% remote position (requested) Can Someone explain what benefits are afforded to me? Is the 401k match the same? Recruiter stated 3 weeks and 3 days of PTO…does that mean 18 days or 24 days? Also, can someone clarify the parental leave policy as compared to core? Can these be negotiated? I’ve been a 10 year Special Agent/Federal Agent and Officer with the military. Tx!
Has anyone ever started a role, realized it was such a bad fit that it made you want to quit .... but then successfully rolled off soon after without burning bridges?

Normal. I’m like man.. I get paid a ton to sit around, think of stuff, move my mouse around and type.
After tons of meetings, late nights, last minute crap, and 7 parallel projects, BD work I think about going on sabbatical
