Counselors are the worst part of the big D
I have heard that it is very clear when counselors are unprepared with the new RPM system.
What makes you think your counselor isn't doing his due diligence? Also depending on your level / service line some of the consensus meetings aren't for another month or so - he could be totally fine if yours is a later one
Have emails to back up your account, go to HR to request a new counselor, go to a PPD to present your problem.
1) it's next week 2) neither of the 2 main people I work with on my project have heard from my counselor
OP, did you follow up with him? Mine sent me a canned form to fill out, we met to talk about it and who he should talk to, then I followed up with those people to see if he actually talked to them.
We were told they would get asked to leave and come back in when they were more prepared if they didn't do due diligence
Bell curve as usual... Some are good, some are bad. Also, it depends on where you are in your career. If your's is bad - switch!
Seriously: talk to your PM and P/D on the project. If you are sure about this, send a concerned note to HR. They'll keep an eye on it during YE meetings
