Bain & Company Hi fishers,
It's been 3 years that I have been working With Barclays and now I'm looking for new opportunities, majorly in investment/finance domain. I am skilled in Financial Modelling, and market research.
Can anyone refer me for a profile BlackRock Citi Bain & Company Fidelity Investments Merrill Lynch Morgan Stanley Deutsche Bank
Unfortunately most women I’ve seen enter consulting single leave consulting single
@SC1... I hope your bfs comments gave you pause. You'll feel pressured since he moved to you. But he basically already said it's him or your career. If you want out of Consulting that's fine. But he wasn't very subtle.
I just find it weird that 2-3 nights away is so much! Maybe I just enjoy my quiet time and space
I recent met a guy and he likes the fact that I am ambitious and I am doing so much for work. I guess he is a power guy too.
I have been in the same boat for long. Meet someone Saturday then rest a week or meet family. Then meet after 15 days. Guys complain that the story never starts.
But this guy stays in touch on phone and is putting in effort and understands that it is what it is.
So, you will meet your match. ;)
Same here! They don’t like that I work 60 hour weeks and I don’t want to give up just like that. Slightly difficult to find guys who are as ambitious and ready to be a power couple.
I’m single. It’s super hard. Most men I meet don’t like that I travel
I also think it’s hard to establish a relationship when you’re away so much because it can be like first date on Friday, I’ll see you in two weeks! Any weekends away really mess with the ability to date consistently
Pwc2 I’m in NYC, have not hacked dating AT ALL.
I’m a recent MBA grad, and I agree, the consulting lifestyle is not conducive to starting a new relationship. I was in a LT relationship coming out of school, but unfortunately he had issues with my travel along with the fact that I was career-oriented in general. So far most guys don’t explicitly say they don’t like my career or the travel, but after trying to set up date after date and not getting anywhere, one of us gives up. Most guys just don’t have the patience to wait a few weeks to meet a girl when there are plenty who are around 7 days a week. Also, after a week of travel, oftentimes the last thing I want to do is spend a Friday or Saturday night with a stranger instead of my friends, family, or dog.
Dating in Atlanta is hard enough...adding consulting to it...it’s not going to be easy, unfortunately
Also anyone hacked nyc dating scene? It feels so trashy
My husband was a consultant long before I became one. Someone who dates a traveling consultant has to just understand that travel is part of the package. Unless you are willing to change your career, which only you will know. Not everyone is cut out to deal with someone being away so much.
@PWC2 I hope you find your power guy!
That’s what these guys on dating sites seem to think lol except if they’re on call or away then it’s okay
I find that I have enough time with my bf thurs-sun but then no time for friends/family. I feel like I’ve made my relationship work but relationships with friends are suffering :/ there’s literally just not enough time in the week
Been out of my MBA for 1 year. Dated 1 dude and we stopped talking because he got mad that I travel every week. So, yeah, it sucks. Doesn’t help you’ll be better educated and more successful than most of the dudes out there, too.
BCG1, do you think it is mostly bc of consulting? It’s kind of sad to hear that. It’s worked for me because my boyfriend and I are long distance anyway but he is moving to my city in a few months. He recently mentioned he may not be thrilled if I’m still traveling this much in a year or so from now, and it was really surprising to hear that.
OP, good luck! You will probably need some weekends to chill and then have some weekends for dates/friends, you’ll figure it out!
@pwc1 it’s not.
Thanks @ba1!
Maybe look for people who are also very busy (thinking doctors) and they might be more understanding? What about other consultants?
