Sorry for the dumb question but I have a difference of opinion with my manager.

If a return period end is 12/31/22 and you know the information will not change as of 09/31/22, can you file this return before 12/31/22?

How can you be sure the info won’t change after September? That sounds like the business ceases, then it would be a short period return?

D1 really shouldn’t be suggesting that - especially since they are in international and this comes up often 😂

The IRS starts accepting returns for the fiscal year on a given date. You usually cannot file the return before this date.

For clarification: This is for a state return that does not show the tax year. However we have to enter the tax period (01/01/2022 - 12/31/2022) on the form.

I work in salt but i dont think so. Just wait a bit

No. You can’t.

Off topic, why does a tax manager have a tax manager?

My manager is a Tax Director.

Thanks for the responses. My boss was thinking that we would be able to but I was able to talk him out of it.

He is probably thinking of a short period return which has an earlier due date and is able to be filed on prior year forms.

Do we try to secure jobs first, or do we just try to live there and find a job once we’re there. He works in a kitchen as a cook and I work in Graphic design. Any advise is appreciated

Is it me or does the newer generation value more intangible things that aren’t easily measured like work-life balance, fulfillment and purpose in work. Which makes it difficult for firms because that’s not something that is easily measured. Also, this is why there is “value” in crypto, NFTs and the metaverse. It’s a clash of the generations that value tangible things like money, houses, cars and one that values time, experiences, personal online image. Thoughts?

I hope life is treating you well.
I recently moved to Ottawa from Louisville, Kentucky, and I am looking for an accounting job in Ontario or Quebec. I have work experience in Tax& Finance and an MBA in Accounting. I was wondering if any of you could refer me for an open position in your company ( after we’ve had a chance to talk, of course) or put me in contact with a member of your hiring team.
Please let me know if any of you would be comfortable doing so.

Thanks,
Sarah
